Road Trip To Black Sheep Gathering

My fabulous girlfriends and I decided to embark on an eight day trip to Oregon's Black Sheep Gathering. We decided that we would bring our spinning wheels too so we could spin. We were excited! The lovely scenery and beautiful smell of clean air filled my lungs. It was a great time to explore, relax, and of course shop for fiber related items. Soft Horizons was one of the shops that we visited. So cute and filled with yarn goodness. I had to restrain myself because there was so much yummy stuff. After a few days we headed into Eugene to set up camp. We couldn't wait to head out the next day to Black Sheep. First thing we did was visit the Wool Auction and filled the cab of our truck with fleeces. Afterwards we visited the Sheep to Shawl contest which was pretty amazing! Such a collaboration among spinners and weavers. It was both exhilarating and inspiring to watch. Here are some furry friends that were also in attendance: We saved the best for last and did a bit of shopping. I picked up a new Turkish spindle called a Kachulu from Ed Jenkins. It's so cute. I keep it in a little Altoids tin which fits it perfectly and I can carry it around in my purse.
